Aufgrund der hohen Kosten in den ersten Jahren konnten sich kleinere Krankenhäuser die Anschaffung eines Lithotripters nicht leisten. Daher bestand seit den Pioniertagen dieser Therapieform ein Bedarf an mobiler Lithotripsie, damit die revolutionäre Technologie auch in abgelegen Regionen zur Anwendung kommen konnte.
