This correspondence discusses the effects of elevated energy flux density (EFD) and impulse counts from shockwave therapy on cellular structures, particularly in the context of erectile dysfunction (ED). In vitro studies indicate that these elevated parameters can disrupt cells, underscoring the importance of customizing shockwave treatment plans. By adjusting the intensity of shockwaves according to the severity of ED, clinicians can improve treatment outcomes, enhance patient safety, and mitigate potential cytotoxic effects. Individualized treatment approaches are emphasized as essential for achieving optimal results in shockwave therapy for ED. The authors recommend the following setting:
