This report is an excellent example of the usefulness of SWL in case of complicated stone-situations in the pancreatic duct. Although ERCP will be necessary in most cases, it is with SWL that non-invasive stone disintegration can be attained. SWL is a particularly valuable tool when other treatment modalities have failed.
