In this brief Letter to the Editor the authors touch briefly the risk of developing hypertension and diabetes mellitus. The advantage of ultrasound for stone focusing and to avoid tissue injuries is emphasized. Based on 10-year follow-up, the bottom-line of this note is that neither hypertension nor diabetes is the consequence of SWL and that the safety of SWL should not be forgotten as an important property.
