On 25 September 2020, Dr Marie-Claire Rassweiler-Seyfried (University Hospital Mannheim, Department of Urology and Urosurgery, Mannheim/Germany) received the »Christian Chaussy Award 2020« for her research* on electrohydraulic high-frequency ESWL. Her research focus was the evaluation of kidney damage.
The »Christian Chaussy Award« is a new award launched by the German Society for Shock Wave Lithotripsy (DGSWL) to recognise outstanding scientific work. STORZ MEDICAL supports the award with a research grant, the prize money is €2,500. It was presented for the first time during the 71st Congress of the German Society of Urology (DGU) in Hamburg, Germany, on 18 September 2019.
On 18 September 2021, Dr Jonathan Harper from Seattle, USA was awarded the »Christian Chaussy Award 2021« – a prize of the German Society for Shock Wave Lithotripsy (DGSWL) for outstanding scientific work in this medical subfield. The award ceremony took place at the 73rd Congress of the German Society of Urology (DGU) during the DGSWL meeting. There, Dr Harper presented his results on »Burst Wave Lithotripsy« in humans.
