Engaging insights: our experience at the ESC Congress in London
STORZ MEDICAL participated in this year’s congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC 2024), which took place from 30 August to 2 September at the Exhibition Centre London, United Kingdom. We were pleased to be on-site with the MODULITH® SLC, the shock wave device to treat ischaemic heart failure, coronary artery disease and refractory angina pectoris.

Noteworthy CSWT contributions in the scientific programme
The field of extracorporeal Cardiac Shock Wave Therapy (CSWT) with the MODULITH® SLC was also represented in the scientific section at this meeting. Prof. Yu Wang, cardiologist and specialist in echocardiography, and director of the Ultrasound Department at the 1st Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, China, shared with her team their experience with CSWT through her contributions, »Early CSWT relieves myocardial fibrosis by inhibiting TGF-Smad2/3-MMP-9« within the section on nonpharmacological treatment and »CSWT improves ventricular function by promoting angiogenesis through Rho/ROCK/ERK1/2 signal pathway in infarcted myocardium in rats« as part of the revascularisation topic.
Global experts delve into advances of CSWT
Further cardiologists and medical professionals from all around the world gathered and discussed current topics in CSWT related to the treatment of patients with ischaemic heart failure, coronary artery diseases and angina pectoris as well as sharing their valuable knowledge and experience on the use of the MODULITH® SLC. Our participation and the professional discussions underlined the significance of the scientific and clinical use of this non-invasive CSWT method with the MODULITH® SLC.
