MODULITH SLK »inline« - The semi-stationary solution for SWL and endourology

For the very first time, STORZ MEDICAL will be presenting the new semi-stationary solution for SWL and endourology at the 73rd Congress of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Urologie (DGU, German Society of Urology) in Stuttgart. It consists of the MODULITH® SLK »inline« and the flat-panel detector C-arc STORZ MEDICAL X-FP-S.

The MODULITH® SLK »inline« has established itself on the market as a proven lithotripter and urological workstation. In its new version, the MODULITH® SLK »inline« is designed to be used as a mobile or fully integrated lithotripter. The new unit concept features state-of-the-art X-ray technology thanks to the integrated flat-panel detector C-arc.

Originally developed for mobile use, the MODULITH® SLK »inline« now also offers the advantages of a stationary system. The new STORZ MEDICAL X-FP-S X-ray C-arc, specially designed for this application, ideally complements the lithotripter, helping facilitate the work of the clinic staff.

Flexible treatment is also possible. The user can perform treatments directly at the device itself or control the treatment from a radiation-protected remote workstation, as required. Another advantage is that the mechanical fixation between the MODULITH® SLK »inline« and the X-ray equipment prevents accidental adjustment of the focus alignment.

For the treatment, it is necessary to locate the stone in two levels in order to position the shock wave source correctly. The high-precision motorised traversing of the STORZ MEDICAL X-FP-S offers the possibility of localising the stone comfortably and precisely from the protected remote room. The user does not have to turn the C-arc manually. A range of safety mechanisms, such as the collision detector integrated into the flat-panel detector, act throughout the system to stop all movement in an emergency situation. If necessary, the user can deactivate the motorised traversing movement in one click. The C-arc can also be used elsewhere after the mechanical fixation has been separated.

The X-ray system STORZ MEDICAL X-FP-S is available as a high-end version with a 20 kW generator and a 30 cm x 30 cm flat-panel detector as well as an entry-level model with a 5 kW generator and a 21 cm x 21 cm flat-panel detector.
