SPINE-ACTOR® Shock Transmitters*: Optimally Treat Painful Dysfunction of the Spinal Musculature

Currently, innovations in radial shock wave technology are increasingly found in the area of shock transmitters. In order to further optimize the treatment of individual indications and body regions, shock transmitters are developed which are specially formed for the needs they serve. In addition to the newly developed fasciae shock transmitters specialized shock transmitters for the radial shock wave handpiece for treating painful dysfunction on the entire spinal column are now being presented for the first time: the so-called SPINE-ACTOR® shock transmitters. They allow muscular imbalances and pain conditions to be treated equally well as trigger points.

Thanks to their forked shape, the SPINE-ACTOR® shock transmitters optimally reach the vertebral joints of the entire spinal column.. The span width amounts to 20 mm, 27,5 mm and 35 mm

Thanks to the forked shape in various sizes, the shock transmitters optimally reach the vertebral joints of the entire spinal column in the neck, chest and lumbar areas. The muscles can be worked on paravertebrally. The contact surface of the U shape allows you to selectively reach myogeloses, tension and trigger points with the shock wave. It is possible to use the SPINE-ACTOR® both as a standalone treatment and combined with subsequent manual techniques.

SPINE-ACTOR®: From an Idea to Reality
The SPINE-ACTOR® shock transmitters were developed by STORZ MEDICAL in close collaboration with the shock wave expert Dr Dirk-J. Danneberg (Darmstadt, Germany). Dr. Danneberg has worked with shock wave therapy, particularly radial shock wave therapy, for 10 years. In his orthopaedic and sports medicine practice, radial shock wave therapy has long proven to be the therapy of choice for treating painful conditions of the spinal column musculature.

The idea for the U-shaped shock transmitters arose with the goal of optimizing treatment and meeting the particular challenges in the spinal column area. In addition to the primary areas of use (spinal column musculature, particularly the cervical spine, shoulder-neck area, lumbar region), the SPINE-ACTOR® shock transmitters can also be used to treat trigger points.
