STORZ MEDICAL strengthens its presence in the US and Canada

Storz Medical AG, a leading medical technology manufacturer based in Switzerland, has acquired the Atlanta-based Karl Storz Lithotripsy-America, Inc. effective January 1, 2023. The seller is Karl Storz Endoscopy-America, Inc.

Karl Storz Lithotripsy-America, Inc., founded in 1995, has successfully represented Storz Medical AG in the US and Canada markets from its initial formation by providing market access, customer support, service, and application training for the Storz Medical AG portfolio of innovative products such as the MODULITH® lithotripter, DUOLITH®, D-ACTOR®, and MAGNETOLITH® devices.

Karl Storz Lithotripsy-America, Inc. has been an active member of the American Urological Association (AUA) for many years and is involved on regional, national and international levels.

The acquisition will significantly strengthen STORZ MEDICAL’s presence in these important markets and will enable greater physician and institutional provider access to an expanded product portfolio. Karl Storz Lithotripsy-America, Inc. sees great further potential for its offerings in North America. With the ownership change, Karl Storz Lithotripsy-America, Inc. will be renamed Storz Medical America, Inc.

Cory Alcala, current President of Karl Storz Lithotripsy-America, Inc. will continue as President for Storz Medical America, Inc.
