STORZ MEDICAL behind the scenes at the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships 2025

STORZ MEDICAL was on hand at this year’s Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships in Engadin – with proven medical technology to support international elite athletes. From 17 to 30 March 2025, medals were contested at the highest level at venues such as St. Moritz, Corvatsch and Corviglia. One of the healthcare providers on-site was Dr Sebastian Sinz, a sports medicine specialist, trauma and orthopaedic surgeon, and long-time user of our therapy systems – the ideal team doctor for the German Snowboard Team whose expertise provides a valuable contribution to the performance and health of the athletes.

Mobile high-tech therapy available right at the competition venue
Dr Sinz counts on our technologies for focused and radial shock wave therapy as well as EMTT (Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy), both in his practice and at major sporting events. During the competitions, he used the MAGNETOLITH® and a mobile DUOLITH® SD1 »ultra« system to provide the athletes with optimal on-site support.
»The combination of shock wave therapy and EMTT has proven to be highly effective for regeneration and pain treatment in elite sports – especially when time is of the essence«, Dr Sebastian Sinz explains.

Therapy that benefits the athletes
The treatment options ranged from preventive applications to acute care and targeted regeneration between competition days. The German snowboarder Christoph Lechner, who secured an excellent 4th place in the halfpipe final on 29 March 2025, also put his trust in our therapy systems.

STORZ MEDICAL in elite sport
The use of our devices at this sporting event further emphasises the significant role that ESWT and EMTT already play in modern sports medicine. Whether in practice or in competition – our technologies can effectively support athletes and practitioners on their way to peak performance.
We’d like to thank Dr Sinz for his trust and long-standing collaboration – and we look forward to continuing to support athletes at the highest international level in the future.
