Abstract

Impacted ureteral stones are a challenge because of the inherent nature of the condition and the complexities of intervention. Imaging studies and measurement of ureteral wall thickness can aid in preparing for intervention and preoperative patient counseling. Diligent management and appropriate knowledge of lasers, scopes, and disposable equipment can help in optimizing success rates and preservation of renal function.
